Intensely sad Mathilde had to say goodbye to her sweet cook/caterer Aalt Vonhof, who at least 15 years cooked that extremely well, that it was sometimes impossible to play music.
At the funeral several female singers a.o. Julya Lo’ko and Lucretia van der Vloot sang.
Mathilde, as the opening for the liturgy, sang a-capella “What good am I without You” and as conclusion “Wonderful Life”, accompanied by Marcel Fisser and Lenee te Voortwis.
On November 11th Todd Rundgren will play the Paradiso Amsterdam for the second time with the Metropole Orchestra. For this concert Mathilde is invited as a special guest.
Mathilde, particularly in her early years, recorded a number of Todd’s songs like ‘It wouldn’t have made any differenc’, Torch song (CD Breast and Brow), Real man, Pretending to care (CD Carried away), Lost Horizon, Tiny Demons (CD Under a blue roof)’ and ’ Just one victory (CD Choosy live!)’.
A number of Todd’s songs that she performed live during her tours were never released on CD.
What’s on the program will be a surprise but Mathilde in any event will sing a duet with Todd. ‘Love in disguise’ will be on the program as well.
